..after you make the reg file then if you right click properties on it will have a merge option now to click, or, if you just double click the file itself it will prompt you to let it merge the files contents to the registry.. ..either way is fine..

OK. I did that and it stated the it was successfully added to the registry but it didn't fix a darn thing. Any other ideas?

uninstall it, and clean out your registrywith a good reg cleaner, reboot, and try again.
