oops, didn't notice this before. They are Mission 702e, bought them a few years ago for about £200 I think, have a really nice sound to them and cos they're floorstanding you don't have to find a shelf for them. Take up a lot of room though.whta speakers are those? i'm looking around for some but really i don't know where to start in terms of brand and price. Looking to get good sound but low price. ideas?
oh and a nice sound card would be the audigy 2 or whatever it's called but for that price u could just buy a new motherboard with a nice soundchip on it
These are obviously home audio speakers rather than computer speakers, but if that's what you're after brands like KEF, B&O, Mission, Yamaha all do good stuff. Best bet is to look at the amp that'll be powering them and try and get a good match.
Amp is a Dolby Digital Sony STR DB940, but I only really use it in stereo unless I'm watching DVDs. [/b]
thanks.
umm, my receiver is a technics, kinda old, but has great sound (most probably do lol).
i may get a new one but im not sure yet, when i start pricing speakers i might also look around at receivers

Same wolfmight, if you use winamp audio enahncer and tweak the bass these things will push a huge amount of air for the price....
Good speakers, I plan on building something a little more extreme this summer though.....think 100 watt sub and 80 watt surround sounds....
I wont , ever, buy a speaker on a plastic box.
Its a princible, Im a guitarist and I think the Wood
jas something better to say to the sounf than Plastic.
Besides, most of those Logitech and similar Plastik-Surround-Setting
Speakers looks so tiny that im afraid I'd lose them on the flat
if I had the, he he....
I got a pair of old Mission speakers, not really good sound but
I got decent headphones for that.
The Plastic Sets a'la Creartive Labs and whatnot,
they are really unimpressive, and the marketing + hype really
seems to works on the kids.
Spoiler: Show
Then you are missing out on some great sounding cheap speakers....more fool you I guess...
