no more then an ether net card and ud have these resorses in use any way if you have usb ports

mine gotta be on ethernet, using router.
bit easier on ethernet. does have to have any drivers for the modem.

Yeah, modem's don't actually determine your speed or effect it because if I was too upgrade to 1mb connection I will still use the same modem, see what I mean?
I use the BT broadband voyager usb modem and it works great.
