I have no clue about linux, but doesn't this mean you'd get a better performance out of your system?
Since Linux uses less resources than windows?
(I'm fully aware I might have this completely wrong)

comparing specs:
GNU/Linux system,
Pentium III, 1Ghz
256Mb RAM
English version of Microsoft® Windows® 2000/XP
Pentium® IV 1.5 GHz or Athlon® XP 1500+ processor or higher
384MB RAM
the only problem is ati driver support is pretty shit at the minute.

Well now we know it's mainstream. Good to see patch or game thats current. Things are looking up !

never been able to install linux.. most of the cds dont boot (EVEN with correct bios settings)... but the crappy ones do boot...such as Redhat.
