Yep, Wayne Rooney did well tonight - it was just a shame he couldn't put away that great chance he had toward the end of the game - it would have made it such a memorable match for him.

I also thought Darius Vassell had a good game tonight, caused problems for the Turks almost as soon as he came on, and David James made that crucial save towards the end of the match when he managed to tip that shot over the bar. It was an ecelent save and could have made all the difference as England were only 1-0 up at that point.

Well done to all the team, and just goes to show that England can pull it off when it really matters. TOP OF THE GROUP BABY!!!

Eh mrcall1969,its different down here we believe we are the best team no matter what and guess when it comes to footy you guys just have to make do with either Celtic or Rangers.You just havnt got the quality and depth in your leagues

england had better not play too many games like they did in the first half they were useless for the first 35 minutes and i thought david beckham was going to get sent off the way he was diving in at people . a lot better in the second half though . still not convinced about sven as the manager
