do you guys use aggressive or normal optimization? I don't understand how that works.
I use aggressive...I'm no sure what the difference is either.

Latest release: PeerGuardian 2.0 Beta 5b
normal i use,Originally Posted by Shiranai_Baka
agressive allows ranges to be merged and uses less memory & cpu
example:
normal =
rangeA 1.0.0.1-1.0.0.2
rangeB 1.0.0.3-1.0.0.4
agressive =
rangeA 1.0.0.1-1.0.0.4
rangeB is merged with rangeA and recorded as such in aggressive mode
so wouldn't aggressive be better?
I have never tried PeerGuardian. I will likely do so on my next reformat- just to know for myself. Using Protowall at the moment.
I cannot really say that I am noticing any difference in using it versus not. I am assuming I have an added layer of defense- do not really know.
In all, I suppose as long as something is in place blocking those nasty I.P. ranges, Izzy is a happy surfer. I am not detecting any system slowdown in web pages connecting/loading or unusual CPU spikes. Bliss in ignorance I guess.
works great here. I checked for all the list of ips and it's already blocking some stuff. Pretty cool
Same here, using works great. CPU usage => never more than 1 % lol..
And using Normal mode.
