I've had speeds of about 150KB/s from one user, when downloading Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

As for my own upload speeds, the fastest I have ever seen was using ftp (102 KB/s), Rat Faced has gotten upwards of 80KB/s from me on ftp. In SoulSeek, highest I have seen was 75KB/s, and IRC, about 60KB/s. I've never been able to upload to a single user in K-Lite at over 70KB/s, but that just may be the people downloading from me.

My max upload is supposed to be 1mbps (128KB/s). I've never seen that to one user, but if you combine SS, BitTorrent and K-Lite (which most times I have running simultaneously), it would probably add up to that.

It kills your download speed because 32KB/sec is your total upload bandwidth -- not how fast Kazaa can upload. You have to have a couple KB/sec to spare if you're downloading >100KB/sec.

If you set your uploads to 220-240 kilobits/sec, you should be ok for web surfing so long as your downloads aren't really high.

My ComCast ISP cablemodem was only recently given a speed increase from 128kbps to 256kbps, and I've heard about many on DSLs that still only have 128kbps.<!--QuoteBegin--kAb

well as i have cable, all it takes is another cable user to get a fast download. mine is definetly not 15k max...[/quote]Very few cablemodems can upload nearly as fast as they can download due to ISP caps. Of course you may be one of the rare, lucky people with 1 Mbps upload bandwidth cablemodem ISPs -- then you could upload at just over 100 KB/sec.

I knew that (thanx anyway though ) and I do that, right now i have kazaa set to 216 kbps for upload and i can still download and browse just fine

And I am soon to be Comcast whenever we get transitioned from AT&T Broadband, which i think should be in the next month or so here

MOST bandwidth tests ONLY measure download bandwidth -- I'm asking what your upload bandwidth.

Or is that for both?

from 1 user i had 4 downloads all going over 40kB/s, so over 160kB/s total.

i messaged him and told him he ruled.

he replied: "i know"

so i proceeded to rape his badass connection for the next several hours.
i dunno where these guys get connects like that., i just know fasttrack needs more of em.
