A lot of folk seem to have forgotten that.
Not really forgotten about it, I'm not worried about getting singled out for an attack - why would anyone want my comp. All they'd see is a load of crappy forum posts, some movies and TV eps that I'd not burned yet and a lifetime supply of lesbian porn.

What I'm more worried about is being collateral in a mass attack exploiting a browser vulnerability.

Fair enough, but don't forget about the OS, Office app, firewall and AV vulnerabilities too... and that lot's just for starters.

You don't have to be singled out either. It's very easy to download the wrong file on a p2p network and cop a trojan. Suddenly your PC is being used along with a bunch of other compromised boxes for a ddos attack or to spam the hell out of people's email addys... or worse.

Everyone is feeling so safe because of the speed with which Mozilla issue security updates. I'm worried folks are getting complacent in other areas.

/me braces himself for even more "Whats the best AV/FW/AntiTrojan/AntiSpyware?" threads

Ah, of course. I see what you're saying and it makes sense.

I was reacting more to the "the evul h4x0rs will just find another way to pwn your comp" - I may have misunderstood your intention, slightly

That's a difficult question to answer because everyone's entitled to their own opinion. Some like myself think it's great, but some will tell you they don't like it. I can tell you it's constantly gaining in popularity. The only way to really answer that is to say try it and decide for yourself.

Good advice davec8 , I install FF on freinds computers and put a short cut to both IE & FF . Then let them decide what to use. Some are surprised that you can have more than one installed. The ones that like Firefox always ask about another email client. Then I send a link to Tbird .
