It's almost definitely my fault, I installed it then replaced big parts of the mozilla folder with stuff from a different version. I can easily do an clean install but was thinking of going back to a previous version if others were also having probs.

@manker - yeah 1.0.3 seemed goofy as hell on my pc too
was gonna go back to 1.0.2, but then decided against it, and then...and then...
ahhh f*ck it, it's too long of a story
I update via tools>options>advanced>check now for updates
and it works well, very fast and easy, keeps all extensions prefs etc
