I know I have a 4Mbit connection... I've gone to test sites like Bandwidthplace, Bandwidth Meter, DSLReports and a couple others... they verify I have a 4Mbit connection. However, whenver I DL from NewsHosting using NewsLeecher... I can't go above 600K. I'm not using a router or running behind a firewall at the time either...
Any thoughts?

Okay, I guess I didn't know that. I just did some checking. Our local provider is MediaCom. Maybe it's a 5Mbit connection then, because they advertise download speeds of 3Mbps, but I'm only maxing out at 600Kbps. Other folks in the area get 2Mbps download speeds. I was just checking to see if it was on the NewsHosting end, but maybe I should call and see if my ISP has capped my download speeds.

Nope Bits does not equal bytes.
There are 8 bits in a byte.
So I have a 2Mbps connection and I usually max out at about 245KB/s at most.
That is for a 2000Kb/s connection.
If other people say they get any higher they are just misunderstanding their readings...
BTW bits is little "b". Bytes is big "B".
