    512 MiB is more than enough for normal use........ most games will run on that....... cept maybe the newest, but that comp is a lil 2 slow for that anyway........
    a P4 2.4Ghz is not slow at all. ur crazy if u think so, and 512mb of ram will help out his pc a lot. i didnt think itd help mine much but upgrading to a gig did quite a bit. and if he wants to buy a $200 video card im pretty sure he plays a lot of games on his pc think a bit ppl

    my card can play hl2, farcry, doom3 just fine on high settings, but the newer games are laggy, like battlefield 2 and such...

    Smith is a bag of douche,FACT.

    then 1 gigabyte of ram will help a LOT, especially in BF2. and a new gfx card will help also when the next set of new games come out.

    If you do upgrade the card, make sure it meets that card's requirment, *Power supply wise*
