...that I may have never seen a flick with Steve McQueen in it.
I'm looking at a list of his movies and I can't say that I've seen a single one. Is there one or two that are must sees? Recommendations?
I'm stealing The Great Escape at the moment.

Bullit, mang, Bullit.
And maybe Papillon, although that's sort of boring.

Bullitt gets a lot of hype and it's the movie that people most closely associate with McQueen but in my opinion it's over- rated.
The Great Escape(the motorcycle bit is great),The Magnificent Seven(you must have seen it and forgotten McQueen was in it right?),The Getaway(Peckinpah for Christ's sake)or The Cincinnati Kid(nice companion piece to The Hustler) are all good.
The Sand Pebbles is also classic McQueen and was nominated for a bunch of Oscars but it drags worse than Papillon.
Just about any McQueen is good but a lot of his films seem dated now.
Papillon is cule, but it takes about 2 years to finish. The movie that is.
Other than that it shows a rising Hoffman, you can see he's got big things ahead of him.
I would argue that some of Hoffman's best work preceded Papillon.
Before
The Graduate.Midnight Cowboy,Straw Dogs,Little Big Man.
After
Kramer vs. Kramer,Tootsie and even Rain Man ,while entertaining ,are mostly tripe.
He was on a roll with Lenny,All the President's Men and Marathon Man though.
Whilst The Graduate is without question one of the few best classics of all time, be it soundtrack, pwetty babes, or plotline-wise, those other movies you mention I've never seen.
Plus I've seen many a great feature with Hoffman of late, things like Finding Neverland, Perfume, Runaway Jury, I Heart Huckabees, Meet the Fockers, Kung-fu Panda, and so on. He's a pearl on all of the aforementioned.
I dare you to argue contrariwise.
Oh and Rain Man was not an easy role. To say he wasn't stellar as an autist on it, means you know shit about autism. It was damn near perfect.

I would argue but it would be pointless so I will just say crap and bigger crap.
Suggest you steal yourself a copy of either Marathon Man or Straw Dogs and see what movies should look like.
I'm an excellent driver. I like to drive slow on the driveway.
See that's a good example of autism .
