A good WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor is Dreamweaver, but you should start with FrontPage. Just keep in mind that it sucks.
A good image editor for beginners is GIMP, try playing with that to make images.

good examples! but you might as well get fireworks from slackropedia too here there all in trials so have fun,
the good thing is they all feel the same so its not like to big a curve,
then again if you want basic (cus these are pro capable) try at tucows or cnet for some near free and free stuff

For you and what you want it for mate you'd be better of using a template,premade thing.
All you have to do is maybe arrange it abit then host it.
loads on emule mate,search for templates..
