is there any way to retrieve old ims?
With regular AIM? No.
I use DeadAIM (its an add-on), and it keeps logs of all my convos.
Gah! Not DeadAIM! I made the mistake of buying that. NO real customer support, and not all of the feature of the free AIMutation. AIMutation is the way to go, with real-time logging.Originally posted by Rip The Jacker@4 July 2004 - 02:40

Buying? Who said anything about buying?
I know, never said you did, said I did. Hate it so much it's not even worth pirating. AIMutation all the way! Gotta love the skinning, too!
I would give AIMutation a shot, but I set up all my buddy aliases, and I don't want to do them all over.Originally posted by DWells55@4 July 2004 - 00:01

There's a DeadAIM Alias to AIMutation converter on the AIMutation website. You just need to use DeadAIM to save your aliases to a file first. If you have an older version that can't do it, they're stored in the registry somewhere. Export them, and then import them into the appropriate AIMutation folder in the registry. Takes a little searching, but I found it when I had to do a long time ago.
Hmm.. in order to run the DeadAIM Alias to AIMutation converter, I'll need to download Microsoft .Net Framework, which is 23.6MB, and I'm on dial-up.
Owch. You could do it manually via the registry like I did...
