Good point, altho I just tried that and got 5338, leaving 3650 unacounted for

Yeah I know, I worked that one out too so it has to be different, I'm going with the roman numerals atm cos it makes sense with what they guy said about letters can be numbers.

But I'm not quite getting there, altho I have a very very thin theory

In roman using the first v as 5000 (normally in roman it would have a line above it) and adding the rest to it you come up with 10207, now if you take the 12 and the 19 and put them together to make 1219, then subtract 1219 from 10207 you end up with 8988 and the other numbers are just there to confuse you
