Help me find a great deal on a Seagate 80-200GB HDD, IDE internal 5yr warr @ .25 a GB or less please.
Wish I'd jumped on those 200GB PATA Seagate OTD for $39.99. A week back or so.
I'm getting the click of death & S.M.A.R.T. warnings from an old HDD that I'm experimenting with Linux. My 2 main HDDs are OK.
Need help finding an OTD no rebate deal. Want Seagate for the 5yr warr., PATA/IDE, 200GB capacity or less needed. And a price point of equal to or less than .25 a GB. Hopefully .20 a GB. The less GBs per HDD at this price the better. Minimum would be 20GB HDDs. I know 80GB HDDs & larger is most realistic these days.
In other words I want to spend $50 or less per HDD.
Thanks.

OfficeMax has the Seagate 160GB Internal Ultra ATA Hard Drive for $49.99 OTD. Offer Valid: 05/27-06/02.
And searched & found a OM coupon.
Found a $20off$50. Coupon good till 06/30/2007.
Walked in OM. Grabbed 3 HDDs. Made 3 separate buys. Teller made overides so I didn't need .01+ fillers. So each one incl tax was $31.79. So I got 3 for a total of $95.39

You could also use just one drive (less load on your PSU).
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620A
(Perpendicular Recording)
320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive
$79.99

I do only use 1 HDD at a time. I have removable HDD drawers.
2 - HDDs to clone between XP & 1 for Linux.

I got a great deal a couple of days ago at fry's electronics. It was a 160GB maxtor SataII for $40. I have had good experience with maxtor in the past, and this drive is no exception. I installed vista on it, and vista gives the drive a rating of 5.5 for data transfer speed.
