FLiP all the way!
I think stop bashing torrent sites. Respect individual opinion. Some like it, some like it not.
I concur that maintaining a good ratio on FTN is not that difficult.
I have a 1mb up connection and I am currently have a 9:1 ratio on it.
I like FTN for the following reasons:
1) Very fast uploaders
2) Pre-times are pretty good
3) Freeleech if torrent is uploaded after a prescribed time
4) Cool staff
That is true but note the following:
1) Since being on FTN, I have never managed to max my upload on it (the most I have managed to get up is about 55kb/s which is about 512up)
2) I currently have a 9:1 ratio, the average then should be able to achieve 1:1 bearing they select their torrent properly.
the logic doesn't work like that. i think the problem with ftn is that due to the low number of leechers, to maintain a good ratio, you'll have to jump on new torrents fairly quickly.
you probably check your torrent sites frequently so you get to get on torrents early but some people can't (work, school, etc. during the day).
i max out at around 55 kb/s for upload and i have an 18:1 ratio on ftn. gotta hit those new freeleech torrents right when they get up and download torrents from other sites and upload the files to ftn. not that hard.
Actually I don't, I work, I am doing my Masters in Information Technology and I am a newly wed but i pick my torrents very carefully which is when I can jump on early I do, if I can't then I grab the torrent from somewhere else. Maintaining good ratios on any site is about being responsible and sensible.
It's not hard at all to keep good ratio on FTN. There are many freeleeches, and of course U gotta have a good strategy - which to dowload, which one will be popular enough for leech. On SCT it's a lot harder to seed- partly due to the absence of regular freeleeches. Speed is also an issue. I guess everyone has seedbox there. Well I have a fairly strong seedbox, though.
