If you're not a member of a tracker you don't know the full name of, it's no use to you and there's no point in knowing it.

I think he means users that have an account there refer to the abbreviations like the rules dictate, but the members that don't say the full name.

Pretty much, I mean its barely a stop gap at best. People are going to find them anyway, if you know how to use Google and have a little time. But I also understand why sites want to do it also.
