i'd say KRS One.
the first political rap song ever got to be "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five in 1982
before that it was all about fun, party and mc's having rhyme battels.

I personally like 2Pac, Ice Cube, Chuck D and Public Enemy. Immortal Technique is pretty damn political too but I don't really feel his music as much but his lyrics are pretty real about world issues.

Immortal technique he's not to famous but he's the most intelligent rapper i've ever heard non of the 50 cent crap this guy actually knows what he's talking about check him out
