I agree. Remember xvid is not like divx(5.0). When xvid gets their sh*t together, the might surpass divx, but ogg is and matroska are interesting too. Wait until the xvid 5.0 release then say it sucks.

MetroStars: The upside down thing has been discussed many times it is supposedly a problem with microsoft's direct show or vfw I can't remember which. Anyway ffdshow has that "flip video" checkbox and it might even be able to fix the other problem too. I'm too lazy to check

If you ask me, Xvid movies have much better quality than Divx movies.

That is a whole load of shit!
XVid RILES! it is the best codec to ever hit the internet!
if u dunno how to use it and harness its POWER, which by the way i can tell from ur post that u dont know, then do go around badmouthing it coz u diunno how to use it.
there are millions who have discovered it and LOVE it coz it is so good.
people dont get audio and video sync problems coz of the codec. its the MOVIE.
some jerk probably took an out of sync movie and just encoded it with xvid.
did ya ever think of that!

Change the directshow codec reader priority settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 2 or to the top of plugin-list and try open the video.

XviD is the best lossy avi codec by now.
If you don't know how to set your system up to play/reencode XviD movies, the problem is not the codec...

XviD is the Best for quality overall now!!!
    Depends on the Encoder too
And as Far as the 2 Fast 2 Furious Xvid rip,
it's by far the best rip of it out there!!!

XviD was designed to compress mpg; it was never designed to convert to VCD. XviD developers I know don't give a shit about VCDs! Always keep in mind that the current versions of XviD are still under 1.0. That means it's still technically a beta.
As Darth Sushi is Quoted above, that is why Xvid can cause you problems m8...And I now understand this..so Sniker shut the F**k up!!!!
I got Booted from Xbox Scene Forum...Proud??...You Betcha!!
