While the geforce 4 mx does have many similiarities to the 2-mx's, its considerably faster in many parts and it will still have no problems running any upcoming games (1 year, meh, don't worry - it will last longer than that [for the most part]). Getting top graphics out of those games is another issue though.
depends on which new games you want to play on the card, basically.

Not in particular, it would run any game currently out. As i said though, getting good graphics out of it is a completely different story.

i wasn't disagreeing with that. i meant that the gf4mx will run some new games well, and it will run other new games like a bucketful of ass. a gf4mx owner's satisfaction with that card depends on which new games he wants to play.
btw, it doesn't run Metal Gear Solid 2. no exceptions. that's just one game, but it still proves that you should think twice before making broad statements like "this card runs every game." there are other games out that the gf4mx just barely meets the minimum requirements for, like Tron 2.0. so within the next year, i don't think it's unreasonable to expect that more games will come out that drop the card from the bottom end of their system requirements simply because they require hardware support for directx 8 effects.
