I like both products, but if you have the horsepower... get Half-Life 2. Seriously. If you don't have a comp that can run HL2, and don't feel like upgrading, you should probably go with UT2k4. It's not really a "new" game, from what I understand. It's more like an expansion for UT2k3, so I can't see the systems reqs being that much higher.

Unreal Tournament 2004, from what i've heard is the exact same engine from the 2003 version, but with improved particle effects and a few other things, generally the same type of game, but just harder to run (which would be quite annoying considering the high-end pc already needed for 2003). I wouldn't say half life 2 needs alot of horsepower. Sure, to get great graphics out of the game you'll need a top pc, but the engine has been created very scalable, so it can run on even lower-end pc's.

I saw a video of UT2004. It looks just like UT2003 exept with cool vehicles. But then again UT2003 was a really good game.

with UT2k4 u get a Multiplayer game with HL2 u get a Single Player and other Multiplayer expansions.

Are you people mad?! Half-Life 2 will revolutionize PC gaming. UT2K4 is just 2K3 with vehicles (BF1942 wanna be). I guess it depends on personal preference. I personally like cinematics and immersive gameplay. The Quake-like gamplay blitz of UT2K is just not for me. I like the tamer version of the original UT way more.

I wouldn't say it will revolutionise pc gaming, but it does plan to be a new step in the fps genre.
