If Avipreview doesn't work, then you have to be suspicious about the file you are downloading. It may be a sign that the file is corrupt. If Avi-Preview doesn't work on files that are ok, then I suggest you'd get another version of Avi-preview or another program to preview your files. It works fine for me. I never get a fake file

heres 1 thing to try www.divx.com get the new divx player and codecs and it should work or its fake

Go and get the DivX Player. It'll even play partially downloaded dat files so you'll be able to check if the movie is real or fake .

Well i guess i am damn unlucky i guess.

i downloaded like 4 ? types of pirates of the carribean.

all 4 didnt work. i.e black screen / no sound which goes on for like 1:20mins ??

~ 200 megs in size

I used Gspot and it said it was playerable however it said no audio was detected so i guess that's a little fishy =P (Finding Nemo too)

y don't try to dnl a verified file once in a while?

I agree with people above: allways use avipreview or another "previewer"
if it doesn't work its a fake or corrupt file
its as easy as that

And download bigger files (around 600/700 megs). Ok, they might take longer to download, but they are of better quality most of the time and I'm not sure, but I think that there are less fakes among the bigger files.

you should do this everytime, smaller files are crap and don't start talking about avi preview or 3rd gen noob will apear with a link for avipreviewc, whick i might add is pretty cool , but the regualr avi preview can only preview avi and mpg
