Erm, one small thing.

(S)He's talking about different Species, not different Races of a species.

You may not think this, but frankly I'd expect wholley different behaviour between say; A Dolphin and a Shark.

I wouldn't expct so much difference in behaviour between an Indian Elephant and an African Elephant.

I do, however take the point about "half cast" children, but only in that I don't see how two wholley different species of differing genetic backgrounds could breed.

If some mad Scientist did manage to solve the problems though, then I could see why the children would be torn between 2 wholley different and seperate instinctive urges.

"Racism" is not part of Star Trek, however yes, you could accuse it of "Specism".. but then of course there would be no TV program. It wouldn't take long for the audiance to get sick and tired of visiting worlds that have exactly the same historical/genetic background etc and were all living in piece and harmony.

Star Wars is equally as culpable in this.
