So I ordered a bike from some foreign country, and even though I selected it to show stuff in english on the site, the notifications they keep sending me on order changes are all in some weird mexican accent.
It's all like Hallo,
deine BIKER-BOARDER Sendung ist auf dem Weg zu dir. Mit der unten stehenden Tracking-Nummer kannst du das Paket verfolgen.
Viel Spass damit und viele Grüße
Stupid mexicans.
I thought you spoke every language in the World, ever.
Not really. I only speak lyke two rly well.
And then I can understand a few others fairly well.
And then I can read a couple of others, but can't rly follow the spoken version, unless they speak slowly, like.
And then I know specific bits from a couple of others more.
But this is all beside the point, which is that mexicans suck.
The bike is rly kewl though, I hope it arrives soon.
I'm obsessed with cycling these days. True story.
I should prolly note that I know what that quote says, but I wasn't sure of that one word at the end, it was well annoying. I've got my own brand of OCD, you know.

It's got 27 gears. I've never had 27 gears before.
And it's also green.
Neato. I've made several posts on the internets and I'm still not feeling the urge to fuck off and go outside.
Feels like old times.
It must be the amazing conversation wot makes me hang around.
27 gears, why would you need that many. You would be going at a brazillion miles an hour or something else.
Tbh, I expect I'd be fine with five or so on the road. My road bike has twelve, and I'm usually not doing much with the front derailleur. Most it's as high a gear as I can manage, going as fast as I'm able, once I'm on the open road.
With really steep hills, uneven ground and whatnot it's sometimes nice being able to pick just the right resistance, though. But generally, 21 gears is more than enough even for that. It's just the novelty of having 27 that's exciting.
I've also noticed that the fitter I get, the less lower gears get used. On my way to work it's mostly the 21st (on my current, much dodgier mtb) all the way. I only shift down by traffic light sometimes, and that's cos it's easier to accelerate if I start lower.
They don't go higher and higher, ratio-wise, either. You just get more nuances.
