i just thought that if you made a rule where people had to have a minimum number of posts before starting new threads. this might coax people into seeing how the forum should work, so there wont be 20 requests for matrix revolutions in the wrong place

I like this suggestion. I don't know if it's possible to set it like that.
Maybe even set it so that if someone starts new threads in the wrong section a few times then they cannot start new threads for a while.

Hmmm that is wishful thinking.
On any forum it's never gonna happen without a LOT of moderation and housekeeping.

GameFAQs has something similar ot this with their karma system. There are limits to how many topics and messages you can post according to what level you are at.
I'm not sure if this type of thing could be applied to this board though.

I think it's a strange idea. What if a new member needed help (on a topic that hasn't already been covered), and then they couldn't start a new thread to ask for the help that they need?
