Internet is a wonder filled place. Not surprisingly, that question was asked on a "blade forum" (go figure, right). I didn't read far, but the second answer had this gem:

I would rely on 27 years of Martial Arts training.

Basic Hapkido or Krav-Maga would work just fine.

If someone came at me with a bat or something similar I'm sure I'm going home with his bat.

They're not mine. They're kinda similar but she's obviously breastfed and had kids, and is over 40. So if I ever have kids, that will probably be what mine will look like in 20 years.

Self defense baseball bat vs machete?

I had a argument with a friend about if a guy was intent on putting you in the hospital with a baseball bat or crowbar which weapon would be the best defense I thought a machete would because of the fear factor and how it could probably not just break a limb but take it off but my friend says blunt trauma would be worse than a cut plus it has longer reach which would you guys prefer if you were in that situation? feel free to make other suggestions as long as its not a gun or pepper spray because not everyone has those.
