Do you have BT Answer 1571 on your phone line, or anything else that changes the dial tone? If so then that&#39;s what&#39;s causing your modem to fail to connect.

Also try disabling "caller waiting" services if they&#39;re active. [/b][/quote]

Thanks Lamsey.

The laptop asks if I have those things anyway, would it not find a way around it?
I tried plugging it directly into the phone line, and that wouldn&#39;t connect either.
Im not sure if I have all the right cables. It has the power cable, and one that plugs into the phone/laptop, but that is all that came with it. I tried connecting to MSN, which was already installed, and had the same problems.

Oh, my computer connects ok with the "1571" thing.
And I dont have Call Waiting.

Well sweetie, as I said I don&#39;t know much bout computers, but is there some sort of "Connection Wizard" you could try.... or have you checked yer help menu to see if&#39;n there&#39;s a "troubleshooter" in there?

Ive used the internet wizard, and eventually it tries to connect me and wont.
Gonna take it to see my momma tomorrow, she&#39;s a smart arse.

I have stored about 20 albums on it so far, Im quite chuffed.

My step mom got it for me, but she didnt get any booklets/info/licenses.
