hi i wonder if you can help i 've just downloaded flight simulater 2002
from kazaa how do i install the program .i'm new to all this so if you can explain to
me in detail it would be a great help

What kind of file is it?
.exe - just find it and double click it.
.zip - needs to be unzipped using winrar, winzip, or one of the bazillion freeware zip utils. Usually contains a .exe which you run after unzipping it.
.iso - CD image. You need to get hold of 'Nero' and burn the ISO to a CD. you then install the game from the CD. probably the most common type now.
.rar - see .zip

all i know it's a zip file i've looked through it and can't find any .exe

Well, what files does the zip contain?
.iso? .bin? theres not much anyone can do for you without specific infomation, you know. -_-

i unzipped the file opened it up
inside was a folder with data on it
application with 4 dos
11 files with .mve
3 files freespace 2
1 patch32.dll
1 pxo
8 .vp
1 unpack
1 msdos unpack
1 wunpack
does this help

.vp - freespace archive,
.mve - interplay video archive
.dll - dynamic link library
i dont recognise pxo, but i think you want to try running wunpack (im assuming its a program, since you havn't given the .*** extension). I.E, extract all files to a new folder, then run wunpack.

i tried running wunpack all that happens is a small black window appears then dissapears

How big was the downloaded zip file?
Did you follow sharedholder's advice:
First scan the file with a antivirus if you have one
