ok 1 more cable rounded hds steady at 40 for some reason so the 35s were a fluke, but but but but the motherboard went down a degree and so did the lm80, although i don't know what it is

Look, dont even bother with HD temps, if its defective, it will overheat and fail. It wont overheat if you have a cool case, and it works fine.
With that in mind, what are your Motherboard temps,
and CPu temps.
And clock settings for the CPU btw, as well as cooling.

well bottom line i managed to shave 1degree of my mother board idle, and that is 30degrees celsius on an amd 1800 runing at the normail 1.53ghz
edit it was 58 under load now its 57

What motherboard do you have, and what are you using to monitor it?
It might just be the mofsets that are giving that 30C degree reading. Yuo can just put on some Ramheatsinks to lower it if thats the case.

to tell the truth i downloaded aida32 and then found out i had temp sensors and its a compaq 6016us motherboard
