I've bought components to build a computer for a friend. I've put eveything in properly (and triple checked). But i'm having the same problem with this ASROCK of getting the monitor to work AGAIN - as i had with my own system, which also has an ASROCK motherboard.
I managed to fix my system by closing the latch to the AGP card, which didnt seem at the time to be neccessary, but made the difference.
But with this new system the AGP simply doesnt work, and the latch seems a bit wonkey.
I'm not posting this topic for advice on building the system, because i know what the problem is, i've built many systems, so i'm experienced.
What i want to know is has anyone else had similar problems with the AGP latch, which seems to be badly designed, because its vulnerable to easy damage the way its placed on this particular motherboard K7S8X.
I don't see why ASROCK need to add this latch when the traditional design (without latch) has been working fine with other motherboards.
