Erm...of course I remember that track, who couldn't

On a given day or given circumstance, you think you have a limit.
And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit and you think "Ok, this is the limit".
As soon as you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further.
With your mind power, your determination, your instinct and the experience as well, you can fly very high.

That maybe so but if you listen to the lyrical content it's pretty poor.
For me

Music first

Words....a distant second.

There's a song by 504 Boyz called I Can Tell. It has one rap verse and the rest is pure singing and music.

"You ain't gotta say too muuuch,
by the look in your eyes I can tell you wanna fuuuuk"

"And you ain't gotta call me your booo
just as bad as you wanna fuck I wanna fuck tooooo"

....not the best words in the world but........
the music is on point and it's why I like the song.
I'm a musician and music is first. [/b][/quote]
Well, no offense intended but if you're a real musician then you would know that unless your just doing an instrumental then lyrics are just as important as the actual music.

Music is like food....it's something we need to survive, but you'll need the lyrics as the spice to make it all more interesting...

Uh.....no offense but

.....no

example:

Have a song with great words but shitty music and it most likely will flop.

Have a song with great music but shitty words and it will still do well. This comes from a real musician. In alot of rap songs most don't even get the words but yet will groove to the beat/music because it is good.

Alot of Metal songs (like the ones in Beavis and Butthead) that were memorable were because of slammin music. The words in some of those songs were total shit.

Busyman.....

The only reason why a song whith crappy lyrics but a good beat will suceed is because generally people like crap! The music is catchy but that doesn't make the people who do it "talented" their just sell outs doing music that will sell rather than good music.

Aww man..I said nothing about "talent". I think Busta Rhymes is one of the most if not THE most talented rapper alive but I don't buy albums based on talent alone and neither does the public.

You have to understand the music biz. Look at the fact that having a decent music video "somehow" makes a song "better". For some it's not JUST the sound. It's an aura that you either buy into or not.

Fortunately I stopped watching videos when I looooong time ago so an artist better have a damn good album to my money (or I'm downloading that "1" good song ).

Plus you must ask yourself...why do people like crap? It's obviously not crap to them...it's crap to YOU. I like to get into the heads of others as to why they like a song and usually I can see why. Once you attain that level of understanding then the music biz won't be so confusing.
