Replace religion with sprituality, and enlightened self-interest and we'll talk.
1. Were they married to each other, if so what is the problem.

2. I prefer my hypocrisy on a sandwich, none of that spoonfeeding for me.

7. I don't even understand the enlightened self-interest part.

F. Mine's an apple, if you are going anyway.

I have no comment to make at this time. I have decided I need more time to consider my position.

I will soon return with my carefully considered hypoprosfecies on the subject matter at hand.

I would not <s>hypothr hypothrd hyohgy</s> take to long to think about it Fugs. The end of the world is nigh. I only have a few spare tickets left on the space ship.
Please feel free to elucidate as much as you wish.

I certainly do whenever I get the chance. I like to elucidate all over the place [/b][/quote]
I only really elucidate when the apple is strong with me.

1. I personally dislike the format of church. I like Bible Study much better. Learn the word and go home.

2. Some Catholics that I have known were tired of the hypocrisy. It also was a wake up call when they found out the truth about the origins of Catholism. For me Catholic church was soooooooooo boring.

Really it is all hiphop these days. That is why kids today aren't going to church.
Hiphop has destroyed morality.

"Have you ever heard of the Emancipation Proclamation?"
"Sorry, I don't listen to hip-hop".

Enlightened- aware

Self interest - promotion or enjoyment of the self.

Enlightened self interest= You know how to enjoy yourself. An example would be having a series kickin' porn sites in your "favorites" list and enough lube to make use of them.
Aren't we in the trust tree, thingey?

because the world is fed up with male dominated shit in it for the power, cash & the land a world wher people looked after each other & the earth would be a much better idea ...but i`m afraid the church has been replaced by the media which i think is even a more rotting religion.....oops...new boy & already on one

I cant verify that church attendance is down...

I know in a recent US survey the number of peeps who said that they believed in God was up...

I know church attendance skyrocketed after 9/11 tragedy...maybe it's coming back down now?

I was a regular church goer til I was 14 yr old.
I started doubting the bible, as it has too many contradictions.
Now I think of it as a big fairy tale.

Although I dont believe in the hype, I still believe it is a good way to learn morals.
If you live by the commandments, you will be a good person no matter what you believe in. A lot of the ides's behind the bible came from pagan beliefs anyway.

I love the way churches bring people together, but I hate the brain washing and judgements on todays way of life. (gay rights, etc..)
When my "bump" is born, Im gonna send it to church for a few years to learn the difference between right and wrong, but when it says it doesnt wanna go anymore I will be supportive. I really hope churches dont die out, its an age old tradition that would be awful to see go.

Churches are empty because people just don't believe in invisible beings any more. They are fading away, just like the pharohs of ancient Egypt, the people didn't buy that crap any more. You can only go on for so long until your own God just doesn't even have the consideration of making a physical presence or some obvious miracle.
