why would they bother lol, with solid state rom just about on us , mechanical ram / storage is just about a thing of the past ,
lol gee its not like we are still in the cold war and need spy type stuff anymore lol
i think they are going 2 start putting those in mobile phones (if i heard right)
Sounds like a bad plan. Phones get bumped a bashed around way too much. Solid state is better for phones.Originally posted by Marius24@18 March 2004 - 06:24

How would you even connect that? it is obviously to small for IDE and even to small for Serial ata
or are these just for portable devices so they can somehow be lodged/mounted into the device?

also, how much would this drive cost you? B)
whatever it is, i'm sure it's a waste as you can buy a 4.7gb dvd-rw undoubtedly cheaperOriginally posted by scottwile@18 March 2004 - 11:52

and a DVD-rw drive would be a better investment anyway

i was thinking of the cost because if they put those into phones, phones could become very expensive.

The mini ipods use something like this don't they?
Non-sport MP3 players maybe.
Maybe some small device you plug into a TV, it could rip movies in DivX. Hey, that'd be cool... no big clunky wires to a TV card and crap like that.
