In my experience, Cable is much better, and steadier speeds, nearly always guaranteed. However, after having some issues with my old cable supplier NTL, I cut them off and went with another company, which is DSL only. A few problems to start with but they sorted themselves out, and it's running fine now.
cable speeds are usually faster here in the US, but recently dsl providers have upped their speeds to 3mb so they are basically the same speed. I have always had dsl and if the speeds are the same i think its a much better deal. You will always have 3mb (minus overhead), while cable fluctuates depending on how many people in your area are using the internet at once. Go dsl.
signature removed, check the boardrules.
by speed and ease of use and connectivity i'd definately say cable.
but for price i go with dsl. all cable internet here costs about 40 dollars (for the hi speed [3mbps]).
but for same speed DSL you can get it for about 30 dollars if you get one of those cheap companies.

Over here in the USA , depending on where you live your dsl speeds varies.. so basically depending on where you live dsl speed could be slow as a 56k user or fast, but cable that isn't and issue. and cable over here is 2-3 times faster than our dsl.. and i use cable...
