Did you ever tried doing the following:
go to google.com --> type: Miserable Failure and then press take a gamble (it's called "ik doe een gok in dutch") and look at the result!

It works because some of the anti-Bush groups got together before the
election and sent in thousands of Google requests for that link association
and it made it to the top of the list. Numbers are what it's all about.

Anyone can make any site appear at the top of the listings simply by making
many thousands of links regardless of where they appear in the listings,
bumping it to the top of the list.
