Well, by definition it's impossible to touch a non-tangible item. You can metaphorically touch someone's heart - but I don't think the thread title pertains to that

I think some sort of happy medium has to be found. If you never touch anything, ever then you would die inside a vacuum very quickly, however if you touched everything you saw - you'd soon be dead of trying to reach the sun, or something.
