Perhaps I'm saying that the size of his pagefile isn't too big, did you think of that? Forgive me if I didn't actually state that - I obviously over-estimate the intelligence in these forums, eh?

Orcutt didn't ask about his pagefile, he wanted to know about why windows was eating his ram. And the fact that it's eating 333MB of ram from the get-go means that it's using a bit much.

Sorry mate, this is as far as I got because it is the pagefile size that he's talking about.

Alright, when I first installed my OS, I was running at about 200MB of my page file, now, steadily, over the months, it has increased to 333MBs of page file.

I reckon he's a bit confused too.

I think the point was that it was eating a lot of memory period, truth be told, I don't think he was looking for advice on how to deal with his pagefile, or smug comments about how well yours are working, for that matter.

I'd help him with the source of his problem, a bigger pagefile won't sort anything out for him.

I could be wrong though

Did I come across as smug? I didn't intend to; I merely wished to infer that his pagefile size was't a problem.
He didn't appear to be asking for help with anything other than his pagefile size so I didn't bother with his HJT log - which seems to have a little harmless flotsam that could be removed.
