Adobe is better, but Paint Shop Pro is easier to use.

I would highly recommend Photoshop 7, and I also use Premiere 6 for the vid cam, and it`s equally as impressive. It takes a bit of time at the start, but once you get familiar,it`s great fun.
cheers,
Bass.

if your serious about photo/image editing then Photoshop is unbeatable, but have both installed, PSP loads so much faster for a simple edit, especaly if you start using any of the plugins for Photoshop....

photoshop is definately the best and the most widely used but will take you a while to get the hang of. All the pros use photoshop, and beacuase it is the most used tutorials and help on uses are often easier to find

I noticed paint shop pro 8 has changed along the lines of photoshop, but found paint shop pro 8 took longer to start up, so i went back to paint shop pro 7 for the quick views.

Needless to Say, Adobe Photoshop 7.0 is the leading graphic/image editing software. It's second to none!! Paintshop . AP7 all the way!
