i am using kaspersky internet security 7.0.0.125and I've noticed that my system has slowed down a bit on start-up since using kaspersky internet security
it's taking more time to load Windows XP ,the taskbar is also loading very slow
Is this a settings issue with KIS and is this also a common/known problem? I would appreciate any help in trying to correct this issue.
I like KIS and i don't want to switch to other antivirus
any help would be really appreciated
i am using 512 Mb ram Pentium 4 CPU 3.00 GHz

The minimum requirements for XP SP2 detail a 1GB ram minimum. You can get by with 512 MB, but you're bound to run into issues, such as slow loading applications and startup. Kaspersky could be adding to these problems. I would recommend downgrading to version 6 to save ram.

Yea, I also have KIS 7 and I have some problems at startup also. It only takes an extra 3 seconds for everything to load though. I have 1gb ram btw. If you can't stand these problems, upgrade your RAM.

Blargh
If this computer is only used by yourself, I would suggest to dump the anti virus software all together. Of course if you think you are the kind of person that clicks pop-ups that say things like "Free laptop, just need to install free programs first!", then by all means keep the resource-hogging anti virus on your computer.
