could someone tell me if the gf fx 5600 256m card is better than the gf 4 ti4800 128m

As far as i know the 256mb card is better.
The Ti4800
GeForce 5600
Compare for yourself...as far as stats the 4800 looks better.......
I mean 256MB is increadible and top of the line..and is TWICE as much as the 4800...but the 4800 will run faster...if I were you i would get the 5600 ...unless the 4800 is considerably cheaper

I dunno how much of an improvement the 256MB will make over the 128MB, but the 128MB version can't cut it against 4800 in benchmarks
Check it here (theres about 5-10 benchmarks on links from that page at the bottom)
the current generation of games don't use the extra memory - so there's only a tiny improvement from that
i think the ti4800 is actually slightly faster than the Fx5600's 128mb counterpart, at low details at least from the benchmarks i've seen
i would go for the Fx5600 because it has DirectX9 features, so when the next-gen games come along you'll get all the shiny features
The Sexay Half Of ABBA And Max: Freelance Plants
I've heard the fx's are crap and the Ti is my dream card ...........
I would say the Ti though it's the opposite on paper.
Look at the sites i and other members posted with benchmarks..as you see the TI 4800 is a pretty good amount faster then the FX. The FX has TWICE the memory..but like Darth said is that no games need 256MB of ram...if they even need 128...i ran Conflict Desert Storm with an intergrated 4MB g-card..so i mean..it works with that and it looked the EXACT same as my friends on a Ti-4400...but for gaming NOW i would say Ti-4800..For future gaming (Direct X 9) and more 3D features...go with the FX...i would go with the FX
Edit: Heyyy! omg i just looked at the stats of the 5900 ultra!! and OMG its more then 2 times as fast! sometimes 3 times as fast..thats amazing! lol sorry i just wanted to share!
