most rar files I download are dvdr's so i dont really have that problem.. I'll rip the movie and then delete the iso. stoi's point about the lack of seeders is probably the biggest reason why sites arn't doing this. i dont really mind extracting files cause ill either leave the computer for 5 minutes or I'll let it run in the background. The only pain I've ever had with rar files are when they're from a .avi video and they don't piece themselves together automatically, however these arn't scene rips, they were when i used to use rapidshare.
bitmetv does it, TDC sometimes, all mp3's are like that.
I think its a good idea for a site that encourages long torrent life. I don't want to keep 1.4gig rars around, plus the avis (if I want to watch it repeatedly or whatever). It sucks for people with small hard drives.
For 0day sites? Rars are fine by me.
For any kind of site trying to keep torrents alive indefinately, uncompressed all the way!
sorry but if your a heavy torrent user, you should realy have plenty of space, saying as though your saving a fortune on the stuff you download anyway.
a soon as the scene says its ok to use 1 file (as in they release it like that) then we will allow it.
also a lot of uploaders download stuff off newsgroups, which is all multi rars (apart from MP3s) but everything else is.
and how long does it take to unrar, about 10 minutes max i would say and thats on a DVD-9 360 game, which in turn gets burnt straight away, and then deleted, saving the rars to seed if need me, so saving a few 100/1000meg of space in the bargain.
sorry but the my HDD isnt big enough just doesnt wash anymore, unless your in outer mongolia or somewhere.
PS: all of BCG torrents are multi rared, and we have torrents going back 14 months (when 2.2 came about) so they cant be from any earlier.

what trackers do you us to get your avi files at that have them compressed? i had the impression mostly iso files are compressed, but not avi files. I could be mistaken though, because I try and never download a movie in any format other than dvdr, unless for some reason i want to watch it sitting at my computer, if i cant find an iso of it, or if its porn.
if unraring takes too long...then get a faster computer.
Rar ftw!
Plus uTorrent can auto upack...no need for a crappy other program.

I only sell invites on ebay, sorry guys, so dont bother pm'ing me.
I dunno i guess im indifferent. My computers unrars files i under 15 seconds so i cant really complain .
It would be nice for storage though if they came unrared
I haven't had any errors since joining TL (my first private tracker). The only ones I did have had fix's promptly uploaded.
I do get bad rar's on newsgroups, but theres par files, so that doesn't matter.
Rar's don't bother me one bit, confuse the simple people, they don't need to be bothered with all this great stuff anyway.
