Hey All,
I was just wondering is it acutally possible to put a .avi file onto a blank cd for it to work on a DVD player?

I tried that in the past, and it didn't work, so I think you'd have to convert it first.

You need to convert it to mpeg2 format first.I use mainconcept mpeg converter and then cyberlink powerproducer to do it.

Thanks to the both of you for your help. Whenever I convert it to the mpeg2 format can I just put it unto a blank cd? Or do I have to buy special DVD-R's?

There are dvd players that support divx.. Like the kiss player there are some topics on that hardware!
