the whole world can vote here for the president
What if I want to vote for the Menorah-Thor party? Or the National Barking Spider Resurgence Party? Or the Anti-Hypocrisy Party? Or the Turtle Political Party?
things are quiet until hitler decides he'd like to invade russia
so, he does
the russians are like "OMG WTF D00DZ, STOP TKING"
and the germans are still like "omg ph34r n00bz"
the russians fall back, all the way to moscow
and then they all begin h4xing, which brings on the russian winter
the germans are like "wtf, h4x"

Either way - My vote's for Kerry. Kerry seems to be having a whirlwind campaign that seems to be getting better although the slander campaign may have caused a bit of damage.
Add the whole episode of the Iraq war (not just the war itself, but before & after it), and I think that Kerry's going to be the next President. Truth be told though, I think Kerry's win would probably be down to more people not wanting Bush in another term than people wanting Kerry in office.
Still, there's only one thing I can wish for - Someone expand the Monster Raving Loony Party to America!
I notice that, like a mirror of the political process itself, Nader has been excluded even from consideration.
Why is this?

Yes, in fact, I do know who those candidates are.
But seeing as I have my own federal election coming up in the spring, I find it would be slightly more relative to focus on my own country's political parties and candidates. Can't do much about whomever you Yanks bring into office anyway.
Edit: As the poll is asking "who will win," I've had a terrible sinking feeling that it'll be another four years of George. Hopefully, I'll be wrong.

Well, yeah, Kerry is going to get my vote, but if I had it my way, Edwards would be president.
Have you an affinity for lawyers?
Edwards is here to pave the way!
Much as it pains me, Bush will get my vote, but you all knew that already, didn't you? [/b][/quote]
Well j2k4 I can now honestly say that Bush will not win.
He will not by far.
He has thoroughly pissed off the gay voters with this Amendment fiasco.
He would have been ok had he just said, "I am not for gay marriage", but by trying to actually amend the Constitution to say so, was political suicide.
He would have to steal the election (like last time).
btw He has even pissed off alot of Repubs on other issues.
Stick a fork in'em he's done.

Bush will rig the election again
Unfortunately, I think he will gain votes with this strategy. It will solidify the right wing Christian fundamentalist vote, while the Democrats will lose a small number of votes to Nader. If its as close as it was last time this could be enough to tip the scales.Originally posted by Busyman

Not that having the most votes or winning the election means anything in the US anymore..
The real question here is "will the US be a democracy again after the 4 year break"?
I agree.Originally posted by clocker@4 March 2004 - 08:07

He is running, after all.
Busyman-
On that issue, stay tuned; nothing has even happened yet.
Oh, yes-
The Mayor of New Paltz, New York has been arrested, but others continue to break the law with relative impunity.
When Bush actually begins to campaign, I fear you might really become offended.
Hey, I heard that some fella from Arkansas wants the laws re-written so he can be Kerry's veep running mate...what's his name?
Oh, yeah!
Now I remember:
BILL CLINTON!!
No shit!
