This may seem like a dumb question but i am new to this anyway. i have downloaded a crack and now what do i do with it. where do i put it.

Replace it with the original file that you installed.

it should come with a readme file, but like Samurai said: look for a file that is identical (name only, not size) in the installed folders, the replace it.......... just be sure to back up the file your gonna be replacing just in case.......
good idea is also to scan the crack for virusses before you do anything with it...........

most cracks come with another file nfo, and if you double click on it , it tries to open system info and says its not correct.
instead open this file with notepad and the instalation instructions for the crack will be in there

Or if like me, have to open .nfo files on a regular, download DAMN NFO Viewer. Latest version is 2.10 RC3
