Does anyone know where I can find a reputable site that contains CD backup law information stating that it is legal to make a backup of a CD you own for archive purposes?
Thanks in advance if you can help out.

That information is usually in the EULA (end-user lisence agreement) of the item you are trying to back up. Try there.
