===Search tips: how to increase probability to find a rare item===
1. Check you spelling. Are you sure that you spell each word correctly? Go to google.com or any huge search engine and type that "artist - title" in quotation marks (this usually means exact phrase search). If you find only a few or no relevant references, spelling must be wrong. Also try searching "Artist" AND "title" - this will find more references.
However, even if you find a lot of relevant links, this does not necessarily means your spelling is absolutely correct.
Some misspellings are common, so don't wonder if somebody did same mistake :)
Probably you will find a lot more references if you correct your spelling. You may wish to search for both correct spelled item and mispelled, provided that this misspelling is common/popular (produces a lot of web links).
2. Select search term carefully. It should be the minimal set of words which still produces ONLY relevant results. Avoid excessive words, because they diminish chances to find something --- these words may be not included or misspelled in SOME filenames/tag infos, and hence you miss those. If your search produced a lot of irrelevant results, add some more specific words (or change vague terms to less frequent words taken from the search title).
Example: You are searching for "Charly Lownoise & Menthal Theo - wonderful days". "Lownoise", "Theo" are non-dictionary words, therefore we should include them first of all. Moreover, Lownoise is the unique word which can be found only in the titles of that particular band. Hence, to search for their songs, it is enough to include "Lownoise" only. Further, "wonderful" is frequently misspelled as wonderfull or even wonder full by some jerks. Therefore, you better exclude this word from search term. Finally, search string should look like this: "Lownoise days". Verifying: this string produces ONLY relevant results, if any. Great! Now, if you can't find enough users at once, type this into KS and wait for it to find as many files as you wish.
3. Sometimes the desired song is screened by another, more popular song with similar title (or having same words in different order, Kazas doesn't consider words in their original order when searching). How to deal with this problem? Figure out approximate length (in seconds). Unfortunately, Kazaa does not allow to specify length as a parameter of search; only size criterion is available. But KS is able to filter results. Presently it doesn't have Length or Size filter, but it may have it in the future, if you request it! So at the present time you can search for this screened song with advances searh criteria: artist, title, and maybe album and category. Size option can be also useful to discriminate songs having dramatically different length. Don't use Language option because only a few files have language tag.
4. Anyone can add more useful pieces of advice for rare-stuff searchers?
