I don't know if you have read my other posts but I use a satelite for downloading and modem for uploading. This new system would mean I would be put to the back of the queue for every download even though I share in excess of 10Gb of files (movies, beta .net games etc). With the participation system although I participate in sharing alot, I still get f**ked because I live too far away from an exchange. That makes me question my stance on sharing, why bother if I would have always been in the negative. Well screw that and I am sure there are other peeps out there in the same boat as me. So use the trick to keep in lines for the files first but keep sharing with others it's the only way to keep the network alive.

Please follow these steps carefully.
1). Log off the internet
2). Open kazaalite V2
3). Set upload limit to unlimited
4). Make sure you have sharing enabled
5). Disable firewall
6). Type this into your web browser http:\127.0.0.1:1214
7). Chose your biggest file and d/l it, try and d/l about 1Gb to get upto Supreme Being.
8). Enable your firewall
9). Set your upload limit to whatever you had it @ before.
10). Pop back on the net and enjoy

I don't have a firewall. I let kazaa's uploads to go unlimited, and enabled uploads. I also had 1.34 gb shared. and I still had a low participation level. I don't understand, I have shut and restart kazaa several times. Could you email me instead of replying: silveredge18@hotmail.com

But you only get it with v2.0

This is the GREATEST Kazaa Lite tip I've heard! I was using the KL Cheater, in 4 hours my participation level was barely 300. I used this meathod, and in 3 MINUTES my participation level was at 1000 (Supreme Being). Now my downloads go at 6-7KB/sec (56K connection).

Well if your part lvl isn't going up there is a possibility that you have the second version of kazaa v2.
2nd version is fixed so you can't use the participation level cheat.

Is there somebody out there that knows how to trick this 2nd version in the same way? i'm getting really annoyed about the little pop-up box that tells me there is a new version of kazaa. <_<

Yea I would advise using the cheater. I was averaging around the 7 mark but after downloading the cheater and waiting about a minute I was up to 1000 (although I've yet to see the benifit of this its cool being know as a "supreme Being" :D )

Just use KLCheater to beef up your participation Level it only takes few mintues if you do it right and when you reach 1000% just click "backup LeveL" and everytime your Participation levels drops download click "restart level" as simple as that - i use KLCheater all the time! but i always share!...

wish you could search by users.....i'm IBloStBOy on kazaa aswell =]

Ummm how do u get your level up in like 1-3 minutes or whatever, i tried both ways and im only getting a speed of like 350kbps...this means my level has gotten up about 100 in 5 minutes....i know its still quite fast but how come its not as fast as everybody else? ive got a broadband connection...maybe because i have 2 harddrives? kinda low on space too...

Okay, now im doing kazaa cheater, and d/ling my two big files all at the same time, and that means about 1000kbps, yet my level still doesnt go up nearly as fast as you all...Only at 581 from 310 after about 10-15 minutes...good enough but still....

Don't know of any benefits which is why I havent bothered updating. Maybe there are.

Since I put that on, it automatically closes that window within 1/2 second of opening K-Lite.

Is this suppose to work for K-Lite 2.02? I tried it but it did not work for me. I did skip the stuff about the firewall because I do not have one enabled (Is this a problem?)

I like the idea if I can get it to work.

How bout backing up your level at 1000 with the cheater. Whenever you want you can restore your level back to 1000. Its fast.

You can kind of cheat in 2.0.2

Well you can "capture" your current participation level and restore it.

All you need to do is export this registry entry with regedit

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareKazaaLastSearchHash

Then import it when you want to reset your P-level.

This will only work on your machine, you cant give the exported registry file to a friend and have them get your P-level.

One of my friends who is a pretty good coder had a few ideas on how it might be possible to make a new cheat for 2.0.2

All these ideas assume that the original cheat has been blocked by disallowing "uploading" from 127.0.0.1

1)change what localhost points to

2)make a virtual NIC

3)simply change the IP on outgoing packets so instead of making it 127.0.0.1 you change it to your real IP. The kernel should recognize it but not kazaa

Perhaps someone who is an experienced coder would like to investigate these lines of enquiry?

The friend who came up with these is a linux fiend who only uses open source. Apparently it's against his principles to code stuff for windows :(

for some reason this doesnt work for me. IE says the page cant be displayed and netscape says the connection was refused. the cheat didn't work for me either (i made sure the ports were set correctly), is there anything i can do or is my comuter just f*cked up?

I have over 1073 songs at the moment (all encoded in .wma because the file size is smaller than .mp3). All are being shared but even when I leave kazaa on for long periods of time the highest participation level i get is 200, guru. Just lay off, many peeps still have dial up!! (i don't but used to!) Give it a rest, the participation level is just to speed downloads on a first come first serve basis.

One tip that increases participation levels up through the roof is downloading things that are hard to get. Example: Anime - Inuyasha or Fruits Basket

If you 1 or 2 of these, people will continually try to get them, therefore increasing your participation level WITHOUT CHEATING. It may take some time, but it's worth it. :D :ph34r:

WMA sucks big time quality in mp3 is better and mp3 is standard file type. WMA is also another controlled format by Billysoft, wich you don't wanna use. It's good to hear you share but why this lousy music format?

If you have Kazaa 2.0.1 or 2.0.2 then that cheat doesn't work. Get Kazaa 2.0.0 instead.

i got the kazaa lite cheater and i let it go for 7hr one night and the next day i let it go all night and my level gets lower and lower and i tryed to d/l off of myself and it still didnt work!!!!! i think that this whole PARTICIPATION LEVEL sucks i had 110 file befor the virus and now i got like 25 and even befor the virus my p level sucked !!! and the cheater does nothing for me!!!! i think that this should be takin out of kazaa!!!!! cause lettin ppl upload is fine and danndy bout i cant d/l cause i lose my level!!! this is bullsh*t i gotta give it to the person that made kazaa but also i would like to kick him in the nutz at the same time for makin the PARTICIPATION LEVEL!!!!

you have no reason to get mad... you probably have kazaa v2.0.2. If you do then get v2.0.0 the cheater works with it.
