Hey Dale Mitchel's a Canadian but I'm thinking Frank Yallop's a Brit ? The coaches I mean ? :)
I love Brazlian Soccer tho , found this name in the score card : 9-Renato Carlos Martins Junior (RENATINHO)
Yikes do they only have one name ? Or is the team being funny ? Is it Renato Carlos Martins Junior ? or RENATINHO ? :D

Renato Carlos Martins Junior is his real name. Although usually Brazilian football players pick a nickname. Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Robinho are all nick names from there child hood.
Pele is a nick name, and he hates it. In Brazilian it means little one, because when he was growing up he was really small and fast so people started calling him that and he just kept it.
Theres a striker in the Brazil WC2006 squad called Fred, and he's quality. The only Brazilian who you might have heard of who uses his long name is Juninho Pernambucan who plays for Lyon. He's also reguarded as the best free kick taker in the world and in the country he plays in (France) they call him Mr 50-50 because a few seasons a go he scored 1 in every 2 free kicks he took. Take a look at him on YouTube or Google Video and you will see he is magic, yet he doesn't even get a starting place in the Brazilian team, any other team in the world would build there entire team around him.

Yeah. he's a pretty awesome free-kick taker. They've taken him along to the World Cup though, it must be nice to have one of the best free-kick takers in the world to bring on in the second-half. :dabs:

Indeed, that one he scored against Madrid this season was unreal. Check out his videos on Google Videos or YouTube though and although i admit the French league isn't known for having the best defenders in the world he rips them apart, if he was 10 years younger there would be so much hype about him. He can dribble, cross, shoot, take free kicks and score. He isn't a half bad tackler either and the only thing he lacks is his pace which he lost after a bad injury about a year ago, he's 29/30 now so this will realistically be the last time he plays in a major comp for Brazil, one of the unknown greats in my opinion.

Its probably the old Canadian complex we aint good enough but I always had trouble understanding the World Rankings . [ USA = 4]
Hopefully it will be a push start for Canada's youth programs to get on a roll,
its a beautiful sport and should be advanced .

World Rankings mean fook all, because points are awarded for wins and draws with a team of a higher ranking i think, but the USA pwn all the shit countries in the North America groups like Costa Rica so get all the points where as Argintina beat most teams but lose to Brazil so don't get as many points.

Each win is only worth so many points, the USA probs already had so many more points than 5th that they didn't lose enough to drop down.
