Scanfolder Reg. Key

since i have a laptop with limited storage space (2gb!) i save all of my mp3s and such on disc, and whatever ones happen to be in my cdrom and cdr drives i have kazaa set to index and share.

problem is, kazaa wants to reindex these mofos every 2 seconds, so the constant spinning of the discs drives me nuts and sucks my memory.

Kazaa Search, i thought i remember seeing you talk about the reg key, ScanFolder (HKCU/K/Advanced) - could you maybe use this to set kazaa to not scan so often??

I think this reg key is a boolean value, so you can only set it to Scan or NOT scan. HOwever, I don't know how it works. By default it is set to zero, but folders are still scanned. My guess is that non-zero value of this key forces Kazaa to rescan your download folder, NOT the folders you share. You can play with this key and tell us what you could find out.

ScanFolder reg key turns out to be just Bullguard virus scan. I set it to 1 (from zero) and immediately observed BullGuard window in the lower right corner). After that Kazaa said that my shared folders would be scanned next time I start kazaa.

So, I don't know how to tell kazaa not to update your shared files database too frequently. I am now concerned about this issue, because I share too many files, and each time it scans them, my computer is almost inoperable (Kaza uses 100% CPU and significantly slows the file system).
